Venture Hike - Bog of Frogs Loop

On Sunday, despite the rather dull weather, six of the ventures, plus Brendan, went on a hike around Howth head. We started off from the train station and worked our way past WB Yates’ home where we spotted a porpoise off the coast !

We then walked around the cliffs of Howth Head until we reached the Bailey Lighthouse. It was very windy however, thankfully, it blew us into the cliffs rather than off of them !

When we reached the Bailey lighthouse, the sun came out and we stopped for a picnic. The views were stunning! We also took some cool pictures on the rocks.

After lunch, we walked along the cliffs until we reached the golf course, where we walked back toward Howth village. It was a very muddy route and we all got very dirty ! (well... some of us did!).

When we got back to Howth we, of course, stopped for some fish and chips before getting the train home !

Fish & Chips

Overall, it was a very good start to the hikes which we have planned for the year. We hope to get faster and fitter as we go along so that we can get to a better standard of hiking !
