

Scout Meeting 26th May 2016
We were back to the full compliment of leaders tonight following the birthday celebrations from last week. Following our opening ceremony where we recite our Charter of Courage Honesty Adventure Respect Teamwork Environment Laughter we went outside for a game of Chairball. Scout Meeting 19th May
2 Weeks ago, Alan and Brendan were missing. Tonight Fiona and Thomas were missing. It was both of their Birthdays. No they are not twins. So Fiona L from Beavers offered to help out with the meeting as she has done previously. Thanks Fiona. The Jaguar patrol had planned the first game of the evening. It was a simple game of “Ankle Crusher” or maybe Leg Ladder Race. Whichever you prefer yourself. It was played outside and there was absolutely no cheating going on whatsoever. W


Emergencies Scenarios
Tonight’s meeting was at by the beach. We had been learning and practicing our Emergencies Skills and tonight we were going to put them into action. We began the meeting by reciting our Charter. It is still very important to do this even if we are not meeting in our usual place. Perhaps it is even more important. When this was done, Thomas split the scouts into 5 teams. He had come up with 10 Emergency scenarios and the scouters and scouts already at stage 3 were manning 5 b


Scout Meeting 5th May
We had planned to have a great meeting tonight. Some members from Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were due to come in to us to give a talk to the scouts about safety on the hills and what they do when they are tasked with a rescue. They were going to show the scouts some of the gear and techniques they use when they are searching for and treating a casualty.
