Larch Hill and Chicken Huts
The sun, a bunch of scouts and Larch Hill what more could you want? The arrangement was to arrive at Larch Hill from 6pm onwards. Our beaver colony were also on site in the tented village as part of their summer camp but so were hundreds of other beavers from other groups for a Beaver weekend, so we didn't want to get caught up in traffic etc etc. Pacing it out worked well for everyone concerned, parents dropping off after work and scouters arriving from work. Beaver Summer Camp
22 Bremore Beavers went on summer camp to lovely sunny Larch Hill last weekend. We all had an action packed weekend - Friday after drop off we were blown away by talent as the Bremore crew performed in our own Talent Show - with one members performance causing fireworks to erupt. On Saturday the beavers ( accompanied by 2 cubs & leaders) woke at 5am and completed a 15km hike to Fairy Castle and Tibradden. At Fairy Castle (really a cairn) we met the scouts and ventures from 89

Beavers on the Water
Well today a group of 21 brave bremore beavers (& 5 leaders) took to the waters off Skerries with Outdoor Dublin for a spot of paddleboarding & kayaking. After a few seconds of trepidation they hit the seas - literally with the beavers jumping off the paddleboards for a splash about. Seaweed fights were had , a bit of jellyfish spotting and absolutely LOADS OF FUN. Everyone had an absolute ball - taking advantage of this lovely summer weather. To finish off our fantadtic morn

Tents were going up and the Cubs that were already on site were busy helping out.
Friday afternoon was spent getting our new mess tent up, the rest of the sleeping t

Fairy Castle - in the mist (Part 2)
I think I shall start introducing myself as "Foggy" Fiona. This is our second hike and hey presto we had the fog with us nearly all of the way (including on the recce the week before!). We had six scouts this time, including the very cool Nicole our one and only female scout who has completed 2 out of 2 hikes, well done Nicole! We met at our usual spot at 9am, give or take a few minutes, and headed in convoy to Larch Hill. There are currently diversions in place and unless
